Job summary

AirAsia MOVE is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our fast-growing Engineering team in Kuala Lumpur. You will deliver secure, scalable solutions integrated with internal and external systems while advancing engineering standards.

You will balance technical excellence with execution and collaboration, contributing to world-class travel technology platforms. The role requires 7+ years of experience and strong backend skills in Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, Python, and cloud + container

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficient in backend development with Java (Spring Boot), Node.js and Python; React.js is a plus.
• Strong Git proficiency with branching/merging best practices.
• Solid understanding of data structures & algorithms.
• Experience operating large-scale production systems with CI/CD, tests, and monitoring.
• Cloud experience across AWS, GCP or Azure; container tech (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Familiar with CI/CD tooling (GitLab, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle).
• Experience building scalable, secure applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver components and services with a focus on security, performance, and scalability.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies; contribute to backlog refinement and sprints; provide estimates.
• Collaborate with DevOps, QA and Product teams for smooth production delivery.
• Mentor teammates, share knowledge, and drive engineering excellence and automation initiatives.
