Job summary

Eagle Wireless is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in our R&D Software Department to architect and design scalable embedded systems on RTOS/Linux, including application, kernel, and drivers. You will decide on technology stack, data storage, APIs, and integration patterns.

You will mentor junior engineers, lead features from concept to delivery, and collaborate with product managers, hardware, and test teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions while enforcing code

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Engineering, CS, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on embedded software development on Linux/RTOS.
• Strong C/C++ programming and embedded design principles.
• Experience with user-space apps, Linux kernel, drivers, IPC, sockets, and interfaces like SPI/USB/PCIe/Ethernet.
• Knowledge of networking protocols including IP, TCP/UDP, HTTP, FTP, SSL/TLS.
• Proven software architecture, embedded system design, and optimization experience.
• Experience leading projects, code reviews, mentoring, and engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design scalable, reliable embedded software systems (application, kernel, drivers) on RTOS/Linux; decide on tech stack and APIs.
• Tackle complex technical challenges, including modem software functions and 3GPP protocol analysis; deliver clean, tested code.
• Conduct requirement analysis and research new technologies to guide technology selection.

This position involves architecting and designing scalable, reliable, and maintainable embedded software systems including application, kernel, and drivers on RTOS/Linux platforms, making key decisions on technology stack, data storage, APIs, and integration patterns.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and design scalable, reliable, and maintainable embedded software systems (including application, kernel, and drivers on an RTOS/Linux). Make key decisions on technology stack, data storage, APIs, and integration patterns.
• Tackle complex technical challenges, from developing modem software functions and performing 3GPP protocol analysis to writing clean, efficient, and well-tested code that serves as a standard for the team.
• Conduct requirement analysis and research on new technologies and platforms; output relevant research and analysis results to guide technology selection.
• Produce high-quality technical documents, including system architecture, software functional design, and technical guidance documents.
• Actively mentor junior and mid-level engineers. Provide necessary guidance to internal teams (e.g., FAE, hardware, test) and respond to complex technical queries from customers.
• Lead features or projects from technical conception to delivery, coordinating tasks and unblocking team members.
• Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Lead tech talks, document architectures, and contribute to the creation of technical training materials to promote best practices and team growth.
• Enforce high standards of code quality through in-depth code reviews. Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from development to maintenance.
• Proactively identify, prioritize, and address technical debt. Evaluate technical risks and propose mitigation strategies for projects.

About you

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of hands‑on experience in embedded software development on Linux and/or RTOS platforms.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming with solid knowledge of embedded software design principles and best practices.
• Hands‑on experience in embedded software development, including user‑space applications, Linux kernel, device drivers, multi‑threading, inter‑process communication (IPC), socket programming, and hardware interfaces such as SPI, USB, PCIe, and Ethernet.
• Good understanding of networking and Internet communication protocols, including IP, TCP/UDP, HTTP, FTP, and SSL/TLS.
• Proven experience in software architecture design, embedded system design, technical solution development, and system optimization.
• Experience delivering software throughout the full software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, debugging, integration, and maintenance.
• Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills, with the ability to independently resolve complex technical issues.
• Demonstrated technical leadership experience, including leading technical projects or key software features, conducting code reviews, mentoring engineers, and driving engineering best practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Product Management, Hardware, Test Engineering, FAE, and other cross‑functional teams.
