Job summary

Sapphire Stream Technology in Bayan Lepas, Penang, is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to design and implement C/C++ software for two-way radios. You will participate in the full SDLC, analyze requirements, and collaborate with hardware, test, and frontend teams to deliver robust embedded features.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Telecommunications/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Preferably 3-7 years of experience in software development.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming and a solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Understanding of microcontroller operation in embedded systems.
• Experience with board bring-up, BSP, device drivers, bootloader, device tree, memory management, SPI, I2C, UART, toolchains, compilers, and hardware-software integration.
• System debugging and analytical skills.
• Hands-on experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and embedded software development.
• Familiarity with AI-based coding tools (e.g., CoPilot).
• Knowledge of LTE/DMR specifications is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies is a plus.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functional teams.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Flexibility to accommodate occasional short-notice work arrangements based on project/business needs.

Responsibilities
