Job summary

Seagate Technology in Penang invites a senior software integration engineer to own end-to-end web and desktop app integration across global teams. You will gather requirements, design, develop, test, and support applications within a SAFe/GFIT context.

Collaborate with engineers and users to ensure seamless integration that fits operational objectives. You will work with Kubernetes, Docker, and a Java stack to deliver scalable manufacturing dashboards and tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
• 5+ years of semiconductor/software development experience.
• Experience in system integration and microservices.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes and Docker environments.
• Strong Java/J2EE stack and web tech knowledge.
• REST/SOAP with XML/XSD data exchange.
• Version control with Git/GitLab.
• CI/CD with Jenkins, Maven/Ant.

Responsibilities

• Engage in the full lifecycle of web and desktop apps integration, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, and support activities. Collaborate closely with engineers and users to ensure seamless integration that fits operational objectives.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to web applications and interfaces, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Work collaboratively in a global environment, fostering strong teamwork and communication with team members, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners.

Your Experience Includes

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in semiconductor and software development.
• Technical Expertise: Proven experience in system integration and microservices development and working within Kubernetes and Docker environments.
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in JAVA, J2EE, JDBC, EJB, JPA/Hibernate, Spring Boot, Angular/JS, HTML/CSS, demonstrated by leading the development and deployment of a scalable manufacturing dashboard on Weblogic and WildFly platforms.
• Web Services & APIs: REST, SOAP, JSON, XML/XSD
• Source Code Management: Git, GitLab
• Build & Deployment Tools: Ant, Maven, Jenkins
• Database Knowledge: Essential knowledge of PL/SQL and Oracle databases.
• Agentic AI: Hands-on experience with AI agents, tool integration, workflow automation, and human oversight.
