Job summary

• Design and develop tooling solutions for R&D projects, including fixtures, molds, dies, and other manufacturing aids.
• Conduct feasibility studies and prototype testing to validate tooling designs and identifyareas for optimization.

Primary duties: (Approximately 70 to 80% of daily work schedule)

• Design and develop tooling solutions for R&D projects, including fixtures, molds, dies, and other manufacturing aids.
• Conduct feasibility studies and prototype testing to validate tooling designs and identifyareas for optimization.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams to understand project requirements and ensure alignment with tooling objectives.
• Utilize CAD software and simulation tools to model and analyze tooling designs, ensuring functionality, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Evaluate new materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes to enhance tooling performance and efficiency.
• Generate detailed documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test reports, to support the development and implementation of tooling solutions.

Secondary duties: (Approximately 20 to 30% of daily work schedule)

• In charge testing of designated plastic moulding products and necessary secondary process (printing & assembly) to ensure the conformance of established quality requirements.
• Perform 1st Article Checking on new / modified mould and liaison with mould maker / supplier / workshop for necessary action.
• Generate DCN / ECN to production arising from Design & Development activities and update into quality control documents.
• Distribute 1st Article Checking Report and quality document to relevant department.
• Follow up all abnormal cases.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in tooling design and development, preferably in an R&D or product development environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and machining techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non- technical stakeholders.
