is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor in Malaysia to manage cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with requirements. The role requires a Diploma in Quantity Surveying, 5+ years of practical experience, proficiency in cost estimation, contract negotiation, risk management, and value engineering, with fluency in Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, and English.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of practical experience in quantity surveying within the construction or building industry.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying practices, cost estimation, and budget management.
• Strong skills in contract negotiation, risk management, and value engineering.
• Fluency in Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, and English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with local construction regulations and standards in Kuala Lumpur.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
• Manage project costs throughout the construction lifecycle, tracking expenditures, identifying variances, and implementing cost control measures.
• Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications to accurately determine the quantities of materials, labor, and equipment required for projects.
• Prepare and administer contracts, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating terms and conditions with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Evaluate and manage project risks, identifying potential cost overruns, delays, and other issues, and developing mitigation strategies.
• Conduct value engineering exercises to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or functionality.
• Prepare and submit progress claims, variations, and final accounts, ensuring accurate documentation and timely payment.
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor and report on project financial performance, providing regular updates to stakeholders on cost status, forecasts, and potential risks.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and codes of practice in all aspects of quantity surveying.
