Job summary

TR Build Group Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to manage cost estimation, budgets and contractual matters for construction projects in Malaysia. The role requires strong experience in cost control, value engineering, and collaboration with clients, consultants and suppliers.

Fluent English, Malay and Mandarin communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and in a team. Knowledge of Kuala Lumpur regulations is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• At least 5 years of practical quantity surveying experience in construction or building.
• Proficient in QS practices, cost estimation and budget management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets and financial forecasts for construction projects.
• Manage project costs through the lifecycle with variance tracking and cost-control measures.
• Take quantities from drawings and specs to determine materials, labor and equipment needs.
• Prepare and administer contracts with contractors and suppliers.
• Evaluate project risks and develop mitigation strategies for cost overruns and delays.
• Conduct value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Prepare progress claims, variations and final accounts with accurate documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers and contractors for effective communication.
• Monitor financial performance and report on cost status and forecasts to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, standards and codes of practice.
