Job summary

BD is seeking a regulatory/compliance-focused engineer to support FDA and ISO requirements at our Penang site. You will help design for manufacturability, manage complaints, and validate processes across development and manufacturing stages.

The role emphasizes on-site collaboration in a fast-paced medical technology environment, contributing to BD Diagnostic Systems and ensuring adherence to global regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain FDA (Food & Drug Administration) and ISO (International Organization for Standardization) regulatory requirements for product design, manufacturability, complaints, assembly and test, inspection and validation throughout development.
• Generate process and product quality information such as Critical to Quality indices and share recommendations with project teams and operations to address issues.
• Improve key quality metrics like First Pass Acceptance, Quality Notifications, and complaint data to drive continuous improvement.
• Develop and standardize department programs and processes across BD Diagnostic Systems to support regulatory compliance and efficiency.
• Coordinate integration of new products into Manufacturing/Operations and ensure compliance with applicable policies and facilities.

• Maintain FDA (Food & Drug Administration) and ISO (International Organization for Standardization) regulatory requirements. Key elements of focus are (but not limited to) product design for manufacturability, customer complaints, assembly and test, inspection and validation throughout the development process.1.
• Generate process/product quality information in the form of Critical to Quality indices and share with project team/operations recommendations and solutions to emerging issues.
• Improve key quality metrics (Fist Pass Acceptance, Quality Notifications and Complaint data).
• Develop department programs / processes on continuous improvement and standardization across the BD Diagnostic Systems.
• Supports the coordinated integration of new products into Manufacturing / Operations.
• Ensures BD Diagnostic Systems divisional, departmental policies, procedures, practices and facilities are in compliance with all applicable regulatory policies.
• Develop Design / Device History Files and maintain in a manner consistent with FDA (Food and Drug Administration) requirements
• Understanding of Quality Systems and procedures
• Other emerging responsibilities as identified and assigned.
