Job summary

Axonect in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a skilled Performance Test Engineer to design, develop, and maintain reusable test scripts using JMeter and LoadRunner, and to drive performance testing across the SDLC.

You will analyze bottlenecks, optimize test strategies, and collaborate with developers and product owners to deliver reliable, scalable software. 4+ years in QA and hands-on API testing with tools like SoapUI/Postman are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of QA experience, with hands-on performance testing using JMeter and/or LoadRunner.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, testing methodologies, and performance bottlenecks.
• Experience in API testing, SQL Server, and test management tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable performance test scripts using JMeter, LoadRunner, and related frameworks.
• Plan and execute load, stress, endurance, regression, and performance testing across the software development lifecycle.
• Analyze application and system performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements.
• Develop and prioritize performance test cases based on business requirements and critical performance scenarios.
• Test web services and REST/SOAP APIs using tools such as SoapUI, Postman, or equivalent platforms.
• Conduct integration and system testing, including database testing using SQL Server, and support user acceptance and release testing.
• Execute test cases, document defects, assign severity and priority levels, and track issues using tools such as Jira, ALM, or Xray.
• Prepare detailed performance test reports covering results, metrics, findings, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with developers, Product Owners, project managers, test leads, and other stakeholders to define testing strategies and resolve performance issues.
• Maintain testing documentation, ensure adherence to quality standards, and provide regular progress updates.

Person Specifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent professional qualification
• 4+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, including hands-on experience in performance testing using JMeter and/or LoadRunner
• Strong understanding of SDLC, software testing methodologies, performance testing principles, and common system bottlenecks
• Experience in performance scripting, API testing, SQL Server databases, and test management tools
• Familiarity with BDD frameworks, VBScript, Descriptive Programming, and test automation frameworks is an advantage
• Understanding of AI prompting and capabilities is an added advantage
• Relevant performance testing tool certifications are desirable
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail
• Excellent written and spoken English, with effective communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and contribute effectively within a team
• Willingness to work extended hours during critical project delivery phases
