Job summary

Supplycart Technologies Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to elevate automation and QA standards across the engineering organization. The role centers on defining QA processes, leading automation initiatives, and coordinating end-to-end testing for reliable product releases within an Agile team.

You will work closely with QA leads, developers, and product managers to implement test automation in CI/CD, guide junior engineers, and ensure test coverage from unit to end-to-end.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software testing or QA engineering for web applications.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining test automation frameworks, preferably using Playwright with JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions or equivalent).
• Solid understanding of Agile development environments and QA practices.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer to drive quality engineering practices across our organization. This is a senior, high-impact role responsible for establishing QA standards, leading automation initiatives, and coordinating end-to-end testing efforts to ensure reliable, high-quality product releases.

You will be embedded within an Agile team, collaborating closely with QA lead, QA engineers, developers, and product managers to support high-quality releases and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and continuously improve QA processes, testing strategies, and quality standards across the engineering organization
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage across all application layers, from functional and regression to integration and end-to-end testing
• Participate in requirements and design discussions to ensure features are testable, well-defined, and aligned with quality standards
• Work closely with QA Lead to implement test automation strategies, and to work in initiatives that improve processes and/or procedures that contribute to performance effectiveness and efficiencies
• Participate in agile development and get familiar with scrum, be involved in estimating and planning the testing activities
• Perform manual execution of test cases as part of the QA process

Quality Strategy & Standards

Automation & Tooling

• Architect, implement, and maintain scale-able test automation frameworks
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery and deployment
• Evaluate and recommend tooling improvements to enhance testing efficiency and reliability
• Provide technical support and guidance in product business domain and test automation for the QA team to ensure successful product delivery
• Key person of test automation frameworks domain knowledge

Leadership & Collaboration

• Guide and mentor engineering teams on automation best practices, testing methodologies, and a quality-first mindset
• Act as Test Manager for product releases, coordinating testing activities across product, development, and project teams
• Track and report on defect trends, test coverage, and quality metrics to assess and communicate release readiness
• Collaborate closely with senior developers on quality and test-ability improvements
• Mentor junior QA engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, and technical coaching

Requirements

Essential

• 5+ years of experience in software testing or QA engineering for web applications
• Proven experience designing and maintaining test automation frameworks, preferably using Playwright with JavaScript or TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions or equivalent CI/CD integration workflows
• Solid understanding of Agile development environments and associated QA practices
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead quality initiatives and influence engineering culture
• Working Knowledge of SQL
• Leverage AI tools to enhance work quality and efficiency where appropriate, while maintaining strong technical fundamentals and the ability to independently design, code, and debug solutions
• Support production issues investigation and validation
• Drive shift-left testing by reviewing test scope before/during backlog refinement and providing early QA input before development begins

Preferred

• Experience working with procurement systems, ERP platforms, or enterprise SaaS products
• Experience with test management tools such as Jira, ClickUp, or Xray
• Prior experience in a lead, principal, or senior QA capacity
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification is an advantage
