IHC Heat and Combustion (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our Puchong office. You will oversee planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering projects from conception to commissioning, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and high quality.

You will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate with designers, technicians and contractors, assess risks, manage documentation, and mentor junior engineers.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
• Expertise in heat transfer systems, combustion engineering, or related thermal engineering applications
• Strong project management skills with scheduling tools and budgeting experience
• Proficiency in engineering design software and CAD tools
• Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations for heat/combustion systems
• Leadership and team management abilities across multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with sound technical decisions
• Strong communication skills with clients and stakeholders
• PE registration or equivalent certification is desirable
• Experience with PRINCE2 or PMP is advantageous
• Familiarity with HSE management systems

Responsabilidades

• Lead and manage all phases of engineering projects from planning to commissioning
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets and ensure adherence
• Coordinate with design engineers, technicians and contractors for seamless execution
• Conduct technical assessments, risk identification and mitigation
• Manage project documentation, drawings, specs and reports
• Monitor progress against KPIs and provide updates to management/clients
• Oversee QA/QC to meet standards and client requirements
• Manage budgets, procurement, and vendor relations to optimize costs
• Conduct site inspections and technical reviews for construction compliance
• Mentor junior engineers and staff for continuous learning
• Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our team at our Puchong office in Selangor on a full-time basis. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of complex engineering projects from conception through to delivery. As Senior Project Engineer, you will play a strategic role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams, managing stakeholder relationships, and providing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle. This position is essential to our continued growth and success in delivering innovative heat and combustion solutions to our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all phases of engineering projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning
• Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring adherence throughout the project duration
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including design engineers, technicians, and contractors, to ensure seamless project execution
• Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies to identify risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies
• Manage project documentation, drawings, specifications, and technical reports with meticulous attention to detail
• Monitor project progress and performance against key performance indicators, providing regular updates to senior management and clients
• Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements
• Manage project budgets, procurement processes, and vendor relationships to optimise costs without compromising quality
• Conduct site inspections and technical reviews to ensure construction and installation work meets engineering specifications
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and project staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence
• Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to address concerns and ensure project satisfaction

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Demonstrated expertise in heat transfer systems, combustion engineering, or related thermal engineering applications
• Strong project management skills, including experience with project planning tools, scheduling software (such as Microsoft Project or Primavera), and budgeting
• Proficiency in engineering design software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools
• Knowledge of relevant engineering codes, standards, and regulations applicable to heat and combustion systems
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities with proven success in directing multidisciplinary teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound technical decisions under pressure
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent certification is highly desirable
• Experience with project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 or PMP is advantageous
• Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management systems and practices
