Job summary

Talent Trader Group Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Production Planner in Penang, Malaysia. You will develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders and forecasts, collaborating with manufacturing, R&D, and assembly teams to plan new products and prototypes.

You will monitor progress, adjust plans to meet deadlines, coordinate with procurement for materials, and optimize inventory levels while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience in production planning, preferably in sheet metal, stamping, machining, or electrical assembly industries.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling tools.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, lead times, and capacity planning.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with multiple departments.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under pressure.
• Experience with precision manufacturing and assembly operations.
• Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and process optimization.
• Familiarity with ISO or quality management systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, R&D, and assembly teams to plan new products and prototypes.
• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to meet delivery deadlines.
• Collaborate with procurement to ensure availability of raw materials and components.
• Monitor inventory levels to avoid stock-outs or excess inventory.
• Initiate material requisitions and coordinate with warehouse for timely delivery.
• Review customer orders and specifications to ensure accurate planning.
• Communicate production status to sales, customers, and internal stakeholders.
• Provide timely updates on lead times, delays, or issues.
• Analyze production capacity and resource utilization to optimize workflow.
• Identify bottlenecks and suggest improvements to increase efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in production planning processes.
• Maintain accurate production records, including schedules, material usage, and order tracking.
• Generate reports on production performance, delivery adherence, and resource utilization.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations.
