Job summary

Renesas is seeking a Senior Product & Test Engineer to lead cross‑functional efforts ensuring production readiness and robust final test operations. You will drive yield and cost improvements while interfacing with Product Groups, manufacturing, quality, and global engineering teams.

The role requires strong analytical skills, a background in semiconductor test, and hands-on experience with ATE platforms to sustain high-volume production and customer delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in semiconductor test manufacturing or related areas in high-volume environments.
• Hands-on experience with advanced semiconductor test systems such as Advantest V93000, Teradyne J750, NI/PT, HP660/83K/93K.

Responsibilities

• Lead introduction and qualification of new semiconductor products from development to ramp-up in high-volume manufacturing.
• Provide technical ownership for final test operations, including yield monitoring, failure analysis, root cause investigation, and product disposition.
• Drive profitability and operational excellence through yield improvement, OEE optimization, retest reduction, cost-saving, and automation projects.
• Own product test engineering activities including test program development, release management, test coverage optimization, and product audits.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, Supply Chain, and global engineering teams to resolve issues and meet business objectives.
• Analyze production and test data using statistical methods to identify improvement opportunities and drive corrective/preventive actions.

Job description

The Senior Product & Test Engineer role leads cross-functional efforts to establish production readiness, sustain final test operations, resolve complex yield and quality issues, and optimize product and test performance. The engineer is expected to drive data-based improvements in yield, OEE, retest, cycle time, equipment utilization, and manufacturing cost, while ensuring test program robustness, product compliance, and reliable customer delivery. The position also serves as a key technical interface among Product Groups, manufacturing operations, quality functions, and global engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the introduction and qualification of new semiconductor products from Product Group development through successful ramp-up into high-volume manufacturing.
• Provide technical ownership and engineering support for final test operations, including yield monitoring, failure analysis, root cause investigation, and product disposition to ensure stable production performance.
• Drive manufacturing profitability and operational excellence through yield improvement, OEE optimization, retest reduction, cost-saving initiatives, and automation projects that enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Own product test engineering activities, including test program development/debugging, release management, test coverage optimization, product audits, and support for engineering change revisions to ensure robust test quality and manufacturability.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, Supply Chain, and global engineering organizations to resolve technical issues, support customer requirements, and achieve business objectives.
• Analyze production and test data using statistical and problem-solving methodologies to identify improvement opportunities and drive corrective and preventive actions.

Qualifications

Must Have

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in semiconductor test manufacturing, product engineering, or test engineering within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) platforms such as Advantest V93000, Teradyne J750, NI/PT, HP660/83K/93K or equivalent semiconductor test systems.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing and supply chain operations, including wafer sort, final test, backend assembly, qualification, and post-test processes.
• Familiarity with failure analysis, reliability testing, problem-solving methodologies, and root cause investigation techniques
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and global teams.

Good to Have

• Knowledge in test hardware(debugging)/ handler/prober platforms
• Skills in statistical data analysis tools (Galaxy, JMP etc.)
