Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) seeks a Senior Product Characterization Engineer in Penang to drive performance evaluation of Adaptive SoC and FPGA products. You will design tests, develop RTL test designs, and collaborate with Design and Verification teams to ensure targets are met across process and temperature variations.

The role emphasizes silicon characterization, data analysis, and automation scripting, with guidance to junior engineers and close interaction with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• BS in EE, CS, ECE or related field is required; MS preferred.
• Experience in digital design and verification is highly desired.
• Knowledge of FPGA design flow and software timing closure is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop functional tests for measuring performance of Digital IPs and Hard IP System.
• Development of RTL test designs and firmware to validate IPs.
• Conduct testing across process, voltage, and temperature variations and volume system testing, then analyze trends and outliers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Application, and Product Verification to investigate and resolve issues.
• Isolate issues to test gaps, software bugs, silicon bugs, or process deviations using ATE and bench setups.
• Analyze silicon characterization results and create characterization reports and insights.
• Generates automation scripts for efficiency improvements.
• Manage and guide junior engineers to handle ATE testing and data analysis.
• Maintain effective communication with program stakeholders.
