A Process Engineer for the Sustaining Engineering Team will follow up daily on the production line related to simulation study, evaluation, rework, FPY & abort rate monitoring, 8D, customer and internal complaints, improvement activities and standardisation of the production line.
Responsibilities
- Manage, sustain and improve operational or production relevant processes in assembly cleanroom, covering assembly and End‑of‑Line testing of modules / valves / actuators / other components, and preparation / treatment of O‑rings.
- Conduct experiments (DOE)
- Support production in improvement initiatives for Yield, Quality, Cycle time, etc.
- Standardise assembly process in method and documentation: Work Instructions, checklists.
- Establish troubleshooting processes for rework or product know‑how.
- Verify correct process variables for production (i.e. materials, machine set‑points, tool, jig fixtures, etc.).
- Support NPI for new product feasibility study to develop and establish assembly process.
- Mentor / coach to enhance assembler skills towards setup/simplify working procedure.
- Solve problems of greater complexity.
- Integrate thorough technical knowledge.
- Actively engage and support in change‑management related topics and execution.
- Actively contribute in PFMEA to analyse quality risks and define preventive and detective actions to mitigate them.
- Engage in problem‑solving activities, implement corrective actions and effectively communicate those actions to all required personnel.
- Conduct training for Production supervisors / leaders / assemblers in the use and applications of various assembly tools and processes.
- Develop and maintain assembly process standards and documentation: Work instructions and process flow.
- Be the subject‑matter expert for assembly and test processes, in alignment with the global process engineering team in headquarters.
- Support daily tasks as given by Management from time to time.
- Support cross‑functional team initiatives to continuously improve assembly line cycle time and efficiency to increase yield and productivity.
- Engage in problem‑solving activities, implement corrective actions and effectively communicate those actions to all required production and engineering personnel.
Minimum Qualification
- 5 years of experience in Mechanical Assembly industry (Process Development / Leak Testing / Cleaning / Cleanroom Assembly).
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing or related field with a strong relevant technical background.
- Six sigma / 8D problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient in English with good communication.
Preferred Qualification
- Prefer 8 years of experience in Mechanical Assembly industry (Process Development / Leak Testing / Cleaning / Cleanroom Assembly).
- Pro‑active, organised, good team player and customer‑oriented.
- Strong organisation, time‑management, planning skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills, experienced in leading cross‑functional teams.
- Organised, self‑driven & independent, and result‑ & customer‑oriented.
- Experience in vacuum valve industry and equipment manufacturing assembly process.
- Experienced in PFMEA and process know‑how.
- Practical Lean Manufacturing background.
