Job summary

Molex Malaysia is seeking a Senior / Process Engineer to own the terminal stamping lifecycle—from initial die qualification through steady-state production—to ensure precision, quality, and throughput on every run. You will lead tooling changes, validate processes, and collaborate across design, quality, and production teams to enable smooth NPI and sustained performance.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering background with 3+ years in metal stamping and die engineering, plus CAD

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and validate stamping processes for terminal and contact production.
• Evaluate die designs for manufacturability; collaborate with toolmakers on builds and repairs.
• Troubleshoot defects on the production floor and drive root cause actions.
• Lead die sampling, first-article inspection, and process qualification for new programs.
• Run DOEs to establish robust process windows and reduce variation across presses and shifts.
• Plan preventive maintenance for progressive dies to maximize tool life.

Senior / Process Engineer (Terminal Stamping)

You'll join our Manufacturing Engineering team, owning the full terminal stamping lifecycle — from progressive die qualification through steady-state, high-speed production — to ensure precision, quality, and throughput on every run.

What You Will Do

• Develop, optimize, and validate stamping processes for terminal and contact production, balancing press speed, quality, and material yield
• Evaluate progressive die designs for manufacturability and partner with toolmakers on die builds, modifications, and repairs
• Troubleshoot process- and die-related defects on the production floor (burrs, camber, dimensional drift), driving root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Lead die sampling, first-article inspection, and process/tool qualification for new and revised programs
• Run DOEs to establish robust process windows and reduce variation across presses, shifts, and material lots
• Plan and oversee preventive maintenance schedules for progressive dies to maximize tool life and minimize unplanned downtime
• Collaborate with product design, quality, and production teams during new product introduction (NPI)
• Maintain process and tooling documentation, including work instructions, FMEA, SOSS and die maintenance records

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Tool & Die, or related engineering field
• 3+ years of experience in metal stamping process engineering, die engineering, or a combined role
• Working knowledge of progressive die construction and high-speed stamping principles
• Experience with process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and die qualification activities
• Proficiency with CAD software for die/part review (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)

What Will Put You Ahead

• Proficiency with Siemens NX software
• Familiarity with metal stamping simulation software (e.g., AutoForm, Dynaform)
• Experience with precision terminal/connector stamping in electronics or automotive
• Background in high-speed press operation and progressive die design principles
• Six Sigma or lean manufacturing certification
