Molex Malaysia Auto Assembly is seeking a Process Engineer to deliver and sustain high-quality connector production with zero defects, leading process maintenance and improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
You will collaborate with transfer and design teams, MQAs, and OPEX to implement advanced tooling, process control, and documentation, including PFMEA, CPQ analysis and SPC. 3+ years experience required.
The Process Engineer is responsible for delivering and sustaining high-quality connector production while achieving high productivity with zero defects. This role leads process maintenance, continuous improvement initiatives, and the resolution of debugging and new product issues, while coordinating closely with transfer and design teams. The position also drives projects related to product transfers, capacity expansion, tooling/jig development, and qualification.
Our Team
You will be part of the Molex Malaysia Auto Assembly team, working within a manufacturing environment focused on connector assembly excellence. The team collaborates closely with quality, operations, design, transfer teams, and external vendors to drive process optimization and product performance.
What You Will Do
Lead and drive project improvements, including capacity expansion and operational enhancements.
Champion continuous improvement of mass production assembly processes to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as POEE, QAP, and COPQ to achieve operational targets.
Analyze processes to identify opportunities for increased productivity, waste reduction, and sustained quality performance.
Collaborate with MQA engineers to manage customer complaints (QN), internal quality notifications (IQN), and implement both corrective and preventive actions.
Troubleshoot machine issues and manage tooling/jig maintenance to ensure smooth production operations.
Initiate and implement process and product improvement initiatives across teams.
Partner with vendors on the design of assembly fixtures and support procurement planning.
Lead and qualify new product transfers to ensure successful production ramp-up.
Develop and release production documentation such as PFMEA, process flow charts, work instructions, tooling lists, spare parts lists, GR&R studies, CPK, and SPC analysis.
Train engineers and technicians on best practices, work methods, and connector assembly technologies.
Support organizational initiatives including IATF 16949, ISO9001, Six Sigma, and Kaizen practices.
Collaborate with OPEX teams on system automation, utilizing tools such as Power Query and Power BI.
Contribute to additional ad hoc assignments as required.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electronics, or a related Engineering discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Process Engineer or Mechanical Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience in manufacturing engineering and process improvement.
Strong technical understanding of production processes, equipment, and quality systems.
Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams in a production setting.
What Will Put You Ahead
Demonstrated ability to lead projects end-to-end, working effectively with internal teams, external partners, and vendors.
Ability to read engineering drawings and perform shop floor calculations, including trigonometry, geometry, and GD&T.
Strong knowledge of data automation and visualization tools, including Power BI, Excel, SQL, and Power Query.
Proficiency in manufacturing design software such as Siemens NX, CAD/CAM, and SolidWorks.
Solid understanding of process characteristics (Man, Machine, Material) and strong analytical and time management skills.
Strong communication, planning, and analytical capabilities with excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and collaborate within cross-functional teams.
