Job summary

Recron Malaysia is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to troubleshoot and repair electrical and PLC systems in a manufacturing environment. You will program and modify PLCs, integrate systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), and ensure all plant automation runs reliably.

Applicant should have a degree in Instrumentation Engineering with at least 5 years of hands-on experience, strong diagram-reading skills, familiarity with SCADA/HMI, and CMMS usage to document maintenance actions.

Qualifications

Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Instrumentation systems and PLC programming.
Strong knowledge of plant PLC systems and drives troubleshooting.
Skilled in reading electrical diagrams and performing field diagnostics.
Experience in industrial or manufacturing plant maintenance.
Familiarity with SCADA systems, HMI programming, and industrial communication protocols.
Knowledge of maintenance reporting systems (e.g., CMMS).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, PLC systems, and drives (VFDs, servo drives).
Perform PLC programming, modification, and system integration (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
Ensure the proper functioning of all plant automation and control systems.
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on Instrumentation and control equipment.
Prepare and maintain Instrumentation reports and system documentation.
Support plant operations by minimizing downtime and enhancing system reliability.
Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and electrical standards.
