Job summary
Jabil in Penang, Malaysia is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Advanced Automation team. You will design electrical control circuits, select components, and generate BOMs, while developing PLC and HMI programs and overseeing on-site commissioning.
You will work with motion control for servo and stepper systems, integrate RS232/485, Modbus TCP and EtherCAT, and produce documentation and manuals.
Qualifications
- College degree in Electrical Automation, Mechatronics or related field.
- Proficient in PLC/HMI programming on multiple brands and CoDeSys.
- Experience with servo/stepper motion control and tuning.
- Familiar with RS232/485, Modbus TCP and EtherCAT communications.
- Capable of electrical circuit design and BOM generation.
- Experienced in on-site commissioning and troubleshooting.
- 3–5 years of independent electrical development for non-standard equipment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide electrical design and development for new projects.
- Plan and draw electrical schematic diagrams and BOMs.
- Develop PLC/HMI programs and oversee on-site commissioning.
- Troubleshoot and maintain equipment and systems.
- Prepare electrical specifications and operation manuals.
