Job summary

Reliable Business Technologies Sdn Bhd is seeking an automation engineer in Malaysia to design and implement a Playwright-based framework from scratch, including project structure, configuration, utilities, fixtures, test data handling and reporting.

You will convert manual tests to automated Playwright scripts, develop web UI and API automation for end-to-end workflows, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines while ensuring stability and maintainability across environments.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and the ability to build an automation framework from the ground up.
• Practical experience in web UI automation and API testing using Playwright.
• Experience converting manual test cases into automated tests.
• Good understanding of locators, assertions, fixtures, hooks, test data management, asynchronous operations, debugging, and automation reporting.
• Understanding of SDLC, SIT and UAT.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Design and build a Playwright automation framework from scratch, including project structure, config, reusable utilities, fixtures, test data handling and reporting.
• Establish automation standards for readable, reliable, maintainable tests that are easy to extend.
• Convert manual test cases into maintainable Playwright scripts and select regression scenarios.
• Develop and maintain web UI automation for user interactions, navigation, form validation, and end-to-end workflows.
• Develop API automation using Playwright to validate endpoints, payloads, status codes, auth, and error handling.
• Use robust locator strategies, assertions, waits, and debugging to reduce flaky tests.
• Configure test data, environment settings, reusable fixtures, and reporting for reliable execution across environments.
• Review results, investigate defects, document steps, and retest fixes.
• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and communicate results and quality risks.
• Collaborate with developers and QA to clarify behavior, review testability, and improve coverage.
