Job summary

Great Eastern is seeking a Senior Platform Reliability Engineer to design, build, and operate our container platform and supporting infra in Malaysia. You will drive reliability, security, and resiliency across distributed services, pairing with cross‑functional teams to resolve incidents and optimize performance.

You will lead automation efforts using Ansible, Python, and Bash, maintain Helm charts, and integrate Tanzu/Kubernetes ecosystems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
5–7 years in IT with 3–5 years in Platform/Site Reliability Engineering.
Hands-on automation with Ansible and scripting (Python, Bash).
3+ years building/maintaining Helm charts and Helm repositories.
3+ years managing NSX‑T and Tanzu suite integrations.
Experience in CI/CD environments, source control, and change management.

Responsibilities

Maintain stability and reliability of GEL’s internal container platform and infrastructure.
Identify reliability issues, optimize performance, and improve cost efficiency.
Participate in 24/7 on‑call rotation and resolution of production incidents.
Automate manual processes to reduce toil and human error.
Deploy updates to keep platform secure and patched; work with Docker/Kubernetes/Tanzu as needed.
Design monitoring dashboards to track SLOs/SLIs/SLAs using Grafana and Dynatrace.
