Job summary

A manufacturing company located in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Production Planner to coordinate production scheduling and manage inventory. Job description

Coordinate and execute scheduling activities for assigned parts using ERP systems.

Identify and coordinate advance notice, input and resolution of material shortages/overages.

Analyze data to identify opportunities for reducing inventory, enhancing customer service levels, and lowering overall costs to support lean manufacturing initiatives.

Monitor weekly shipments, ensure all required deliverables are on schedule for packaging, and address any issues to guarantee production lines achieve 100% on-time delivery.

Identify critical material deliveries and ensure program requirements are prioritized throughout the supply chain and internal processes.

Handle the processing of scrap and obsolete inventory from both Work in Progress (WIP) and the stockroom.

Production Planner

Implement the Master Production Schedule on the shop floor and monitor production performance.

Review capacity planning with production staff and update the system with the latest available capacity to ensure optimal utilization of production resources.

Review and understand production challenges by conducting root cause analysis, and collaborate with relevant parties to develop solutions.

Preparing Bi-weekly Operation Performance Report and present to management on capacity utilization , efficiency and OEE.

Qualification

Diploma / Degree or equivalent with at least 4 years experience in production / material planning

Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Office and ability to learn new software/programs as opportunities or department needs arise. Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment a plus.

Highly organized with strong attention to detail, and superior follow-up and follow-through skills.
