Job summary

The Smart Local (TSL Media Group) in Kuala Lumpur seeks a proactive PHP Developer to join our tech team. You will draft designs, prototypes and mockups, implement integrations with services, and collaborate with front-end and back-end developers to turn designs into the live product.

You’ll maintain our own web apps and CMS, uphold branding standards, and contribute to a fast-paced, creative environment that values quality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of programming or web development experience.
• Strong PHP experience with frameworks (Laravel, CodeIgniter or similar).
• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git and Git Flow.
• Understanding of relational databases (MySQL).
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, jQuery and ES6 concepts.
• Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills in English and teamwork ability.

Responsibilities

• Draft designs, prototypes and mockups for the web application.
• Establish design guidelines, standards and best practices.
• Implement integrations with proprietary and third‑party services.
• Collaborate with other developers and project managers on technical challenges.
• Work with front-end and back-end developers to convert designs into the end product.
• Deliver project requirements accurately and provide feedback to meet deadlines.
• Provide admin support, tools and documentation for development projects.
• Test and improve the design of group websites and maintain content standards.
• Design visuals aligned with branding and work with CMS such as WordPress and Shopify.
• Communicate design ideas with flows, sitemaps and wireframes.
• Incorporate functionalities and features into websites.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
