Job summary

Uzma Group in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Petrophysicist to lead petrophysical evaluations and integrate AI/ML workflows within an Integrated Discovered Resource Assessment program spanning multiple greenfield and brownfield opportunities.

The role requires a science or engineering degree, at least eight years in petrophysics, FDP/FFR experience, and proficiency with Petrel or similar software. You will support FDP/FFR studies and deliver subsurface assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Geoscience from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of eight years of direct petrophysical experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Hands-on experience in at least one FDP or FFR project.
• Hands-on competency with industry-standard subsurface evaluation software (Petrel or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead petrophysical evaluations and contribute to Resource Assessment & Hydrocarbon Estimation (P10, P50, P90).
• Collaborate with geology and reservoir teams on development plans and upside potential.
• Incorporate AI/ML workflows for petrophysical data management and interpretation.
• Design data acquisition strategies to mitigate risk and resolve reservoir uncertainties.
• Prepare technical presentations and petrophysical content for final study reports.

We are seeking a Senior Petrophysicist to join our core subsurface study team for an Integrated Discovered Resource Assessment project covering multiple greenfield and brownfield field opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading petrophysical evaluations, integrating AI/ML workflows, and delivering subsurface evaluations to support Field Development Plans (FDP) and Full Field Reviews (FFR).

Job Responsibilities

• Resource Assessment & Hydrocarbon Estimation: Execute comprehensive petrophysical evaluations to support low, base, and high (P10, P50, P90) hydrocarbon-in-place estimations for oil, gas, and condensate.
• Subsurface Development Support: Collaborate with geology and reservoir engineering teams to define primary drainage/injection plans, depletion strategies, and identification of upside reservoir potential.
• Data & Technology Integration: Incorporate AI- and Machine Learning-enabled workflows for petrophysical data management, quality control, and advanced interpretation.
• Data Acquisition & Surveillance: Design and recommend lifecycle data acquisition strategies to mitigate risk and resolve reservoir uncertainties.
• Project Deliverables: Prepare technical presentations for milestone progress reviews and author petrophysical content for final technical study reports.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Geoscience, or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of direct petrophysical experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Must have hands-on experience participating in at least one (1) Field Development Plan (FDP) or Full Field Review (FFR) project.
• Hands-on competency with industry-standard subsurface evaluation software (e.g., Petrel or equivalent petrophysical packages).
• Proven capability to deliver high-quality petrophysical models, saturation height functions, and log interpretations under technical project timelines.
