Job summary

FrieslandCampina is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to partner with HR SSC Kuala Lumpur and deliver end-to-end payroll operations across APAC. You will drive process improvements and automation initiatives while ensuring timely, accurate payroll delivery in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 4–5 years in payroll, strong Excel skills and knowledge of local and regional tax considerations, with the ability to handle multiple countries through our payroll vendor and in-house systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in HR, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• 4–5 years of work experience in payroll, preferably HR SSC/GBS with APAC exposure.
• Strong end-to-end payroll and tax experience in local and regional payroll functions.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing across APAC countries, coordinating with 3rd-party vendors and in-house systems.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee and department queries related to payroll, rewards, and onboarding.
• Ensure compliance with country legislative requirements and timely remittance and submissions.
• Maintain payroll controls and support audits by internal and external parties.
• Identify optimization and automation opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy in APAC payroll.
• Lead payroll operational projects with minimal supervision and document processes clearly.

Job description

As a Senior Payroll Specialist, this role acts as full-fledged sparring partner for HR SSC Kuala Lumpur to perform excellent daily operations and continuous improvement activities for end-to-end payroll processes for APAC countries. Actively participate in payroll process harmonization and automation projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end Payroll processing responsible for the accurate, timely and compliant delivery of payroll across APAC countries. Working through 3rdparty payroll vendor and in-house payroll processing.
• Point of contact for all employee and departmental queries on rewards, workforce administration, time & attendance or onboarding related (complex) question.
• Ensure compliance with country legislative / statutory requirement and timely remittance and statutory submissions.
• Maintain strong payroll control and support both internal and external audits.
• Identify optimization / automation opportunities across APAC Payroll activities to achieve efficiency and quality outputs.
• Able to drive or lead payroll operational projects independently with minimal supervision.
• Provide up to date documentation of own work processes and monitor/review the work instructions independently.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline of Human Resource, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Possess 4 to 5 years of work experience in handling payroll, preferably in HR SSC/GBS background with APAC countries exposure.
• Strong end-to-end Payroll and Tax related experience in local and regional payroll function under fast-paced work environment.
• High attention to details with ability to deliver quality output whilst working under pressure and agreed timeline.
• Great analytical skill, strategic planning mindset and advanced problem-solving skills.
• Advance skillset in Microsoft Excel and Automation (RDA, RPA, Macro & etc).
