We are seeking an experienced Senior OutSystems Developer to design, develop, and maintain mission-critical low-code applications supporting defence and government programmes. The successful candidate will play a key role in digital transformation initiatives, working closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, cybersecurity teams, and project managers to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available applications.

The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in the OutSystems platform, strong software engineering fundamentals, and prior experience working within highly regulated environments such as defence, aerospace, government, security, or critical infrastructure sectors.

Application Development

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using the OutSystems Low-Code Platform.
• Implement scalable and reusable components, modules, and integrations.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and application designs.
• Perform code reviews and enforce development best practices.
• Collaborate with architects to define application architecture and technical roadmaps.
• Develop integrations with APIs, enterprise systems, databases, ERP platforms, and thirdparty applications.
• Optimise application performance, security, and maintainability.
• Support DevOps and CI/CD practices for application deployment.

Defence & Security Compliance

• Ensure applications comply with defence-sector security standards and governance requirements.
• Participate in security reviews, risk assessments, and compliance audits.
• Follow secure development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevSecOps practices.
• Support implementation of authentication, authorisation, encryption, and audit controls.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership.
• Work closely with business analysts, project managers, cybersecurity teams, and end users.
• Contribute to effort estimation, solution sizing, and technical proposals.
• Support UAT, production releases, and post-go-live activities.
