Job summary

Tentacle Technologies is seeking a Senior OutSystems Developer to design, build, and maintain mission-critical low-code applications in a highly regulated environment. This hybrid contract role requires ownership of complex development, mentoring juniors, and close collaboration with architects, cybersecurity teams, and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

You will lead technical work, guide teams, and ensure secure coding practices while delivering on strategic technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/SE or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of software development experience, including at least 8 years hands-on with OutSystems.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale low-code applications in regulated sectors.
• Strong grounding in OutSystems 11, Service Studio, Integration Studio, REST/SOAP APIs, and SQL Server/Oracle/PostgreSQL databases.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, microservices, and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Solid understanding of secure coding principles, OWASP Top 10, IAM, and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience leading technical teams or acting as Senior Developer / Technical Lead

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain enterprise applications using the OutSystems Low-Code Platform.
• Implement scalable, reusable components and integrations with APIs and ERP systems.
• Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and designs.
• Collaborate with architects on architecture, roadmaps, and performance optimization.
• Ensure applications meet security standards and secure development lifecycle practices.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership across teams.
• Support estimation, UAT, production releases, and post-go-live activities.

The Role

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using the OutSystems Low-Code Platform
• Implement scalable, reusable components, modules, and integrations with APIs, ERPs, and third‑party systems
• Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and application designs
• Collaborate with architects on application architecture, technical roadmaps, and performance optimisation
• Ensure applications comply with strict security standards, governance requirements, and secure development lifecycle practices
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership across project teams
• Support effort estimation, UAT, production releases, and post-go-live activities

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 10 years of software development experience, including at least 8 years hands‑on with OutSystems
• Proven experience delivering enterprise‑scale low‑code applications in Defence, Government, Aerospace, or other highly regulated sectors
• Strong technical grounding in OutSystems 11, Service Studio, Integration Studio, REST/SOAP APIs, and SQL Server/Oracle/PostgreSQL databases
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, microservices, and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
• Solid understanding of secure coding principles, OWASP Top 10, IAM, and DevSecOps practices
• Experience leading technical teams or acting as a Senior Developer / Technical Lead
