Job summary

Jesselton Medical Centre SDN BHD is seeking an experienced optometrist to join our Eye Unit in Kota Kinabalu. The role involves managing daily operations, conducting comprehensive eye examinations, and performing advanced diagnostic tests with a collaborative nursing team.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Optometry with a valid APC and have at least five years of related experience. Mandarin language skills are an added advantage in serving our diverse patient base.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Optometry or higher.
Valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) for Optometrist.
At least 5 years of related work experience.
Able to work independently and efficiently with a team of nurses and allied health staff.
Mandarin language skills are an added advantage.

Responsibilities

Manage the operations of the Eye Unit on a daily basis.
Perform routine eye examinations including Visual Acuity, Tonometry, Refraction, Cycloplegic Refraction and Binocular Vision Assessments.
Conduct diagnostic tests such as Humphrey Visual Field, OCT, Fundus Photography, FA, AB Scan and IOL Biometry.
Assess patient visual alertness, field of vision and hand-eye coordination.
Diagnose sight problems and prescribe corrective lenses.
Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
Promote eye health by educating patients on eye care techniques.
