Job summary

KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital is seeking an Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care, including refraction and specialized diagnostic testing. The role involves patient assessment, equipment operation, and collaboration with ophthalmology for diagnoses and treatment plans.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Optometry (Hons) and MOC registration, with 1–3 years of experience in optometry and proficiency in handling advanced diagnostic equipment. On-site service delivery is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Optometry (Hons) and MOC registration are required.
• Preferably 1–3 years of working experience.
• Proficient knowledge of optometric principles, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations, including objective and subjective refraction, cycloplegic refraction where indicated, and vision assessments.
• Conduct specialized diagnostic tests such as Visual Field, Color Vision, and IOP measurements per SOPs.
• Operate slit-lamp biomicroscopy to examine anterior and posterior segments for diagnosis and monitoring.
• Use ophthalmic diagnostic instruments including Fundus Camera, OCT, A-Scan, and Pentacam for detailed analysis.
• Assist ophthalmologists during procedures, ensuring accurate data collection and reporting.
• Consult patients on refractive findings and prescribe corrective lenses or contact lenses.
