Job summary

SBM Offshore N.V. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Malaysia to oversee and coordinate complex project activities from design through commissioning.

The role demands extensive leadership and deep multi-discipline knowledge to ensure objectives are met on time and within budget. The successful candidate will manage plans, schedules, and budgets, work with engineering, procurement, and construction teams, and mentor junior engineers while maintaining high standards of safety and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 10+ years of experience in project engineering within oil and gas.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and management of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate between engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
• Conduct and oversee advanced technical evaluations, risk assessments, and feasibility studies.
• Monitor and drive project progress, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
• Review technical documentation for adherence to standards and safety regulations.
• Act as liaison with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Mentor project engineering team and foster continuous improvement.
