Job summary

Systems Limited - APAC is seeking a skilled backend engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable server-side applications. You will work with Node.js and Express.js to deliver RESTful APIs, design robust database schemas, and implement authentication and authorization with secure practices.

Collaboration with frontend, QA, and DevOps teams is essential, including code reviews and architecture discussions. You will debug production issues and ensure performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of hands-on backend development experience.
• Strong Node.js and Express.js proficiency.
• Experience with MongoDB and/or SQL databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design.
• Knowledge of JWT, OAuth and RBAC.
• Familiarity with Git and version control.
• Experience with unit testing (Jest, Mocha).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js/Express.js.
• Build scalable, high-availability server-side applications.
• Design and optimize database schemas and queries.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
• Integrate third-party services and external APIs.
• Collaborate with frontend, QA, and DevOps teams; assist in code reviews and architecture discussions.
• Debug and resolve production issues.
