Job summary

Altera seeks a principal-level Network Security Engineer/Architect to shape, design, and enhance the security of its on-premises, cloud, and hybrid networks. You will lead as a hands-on technical authority, guiding architecture decisions and mentoring engineers without direct people management.

You will drive security strategy, enforce standards, and collaborate with IT and engineering teams to reduce risk across global infrastructure and data protection efforts.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in enterprise networking and cybersecurity.
• Experience as principal engineer, architect, or senior technical authority for complex network-security programs.
• Proven ability to own technical outcomes from discovery through design and implementation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve Altera's enterprise network security strategy, target-state architecture, and technical roadmap.
• Architect and review secure designs for data center, campus, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Act as senior technical authority for complex network security decisions and modernization initiatives.
• Drive adoption of Zero Trust, least-privilege access, and network security best practices.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate security requirements into implementable designs.
