DayOne Data Centers Ltd. in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to advance our global data infrastructure.

You will lead design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise networks across data centers and office environments, ensuring high availability and secure data transmission. The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, automation scripting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet IT governance standards and capacity plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering, implementation, and operations.
• Strong hands-on experience in enterprise and/or data center network environments.
• Experience in global enterprise, large-scale environments, or consulting firms (e.g., Big4) is an advantage.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and deliver end-to-end solutions.

Responsibilities

• Identify gaps in network architecture and drive improvements.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues including RCA and incident management.
• Manage routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
• Design and maintain data center and workplace networks.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks and SPOF, and optimize reliability.
• Establish network operation standards and processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project delivery.
• Develop automation scripts and configuration templates.
• Manage network monitoring, alerting, and reporting with Zabbix/Grafana/ELK.
• Support capacity planning and lifecycle management (Day 0-2 operations).
• Ensure network security and safe data transmission.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify gaps and deficiencies in the current network architecture and operations, propose improvement plans, and drive implementation
• Trouble shoot and resolve complex network issues, including RCA (Root Cause Analysis), performance tuning, and incident management
• Manage network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems (configuration, maintenance, and security hardening)
• Design, implement, and maintain data center and workplace network environments
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks and SPOF, and continuously optimize network quality and reliability
• Establish and maintain network operation standards, documentation, and operational processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project delivery and adherence to IT governance standards
• Develop and maintain automation scripts, configuration templates, and backup strategies
• Manage network monitoring, alerting, and reporting using tools such as Zabbix, Grafana, and ELK
• Support capacity planning, scalability, and lifecycle management (Day 0, Day 1, Day 2 operations)
• Ensure network security compliance and safe transmission of internal data
