Job summary

PERSOL Workforce Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a senior Network Engineer in Kuala Lumpur to design, implement and support enterprise network infrastructure using Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms. You will configure, maintain and troubleshoot routing and switching, and plan, deploy and support enterprise wireless solutions.

You will also manage VMware NSX including Distributed Firewall and security policies, configure firewall rules, assist with capacity planning and performance tuning,

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on Cisco Routing & Switching experience.
• 4+ years enterprise Wireless Networking experience.
• 5+ years VMware NSX experience including: Distributed Firewall (DFW), NSX Firewall configuration and policy management.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches.
• Solid firewall technologies and security best practices.
• DNS concepts and troubleshooting experience.
• Understand SD-WAN architecture basics.

Job description

• Design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure using Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Routing & Switching technologies in complex enterprise environments.
• Plan, deploy, and support enterprise wireless network solutions.
• Implement and manage VMware NSX, including Distributed Firewall (DFW) and security policies.
• Configure and maintain firewall policies to ensure network security and compliance.
• Support network optimization, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues across LAN, WAN, Wireless, and Data Center environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects, migrations, and technology upgrades.
• Participate in change management, incident management, and root cause analysis.
• Maintain network documentation, architecture diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and operations teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in Cisco Routing & Switching, with expert-level knowledge of Cisco Catalyst and Cisco Nexus switches.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on implementation experience in enterprise Wireless Networking.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with VMware NSX, including:
  • o Distributed Firewall (DFW)
  • o NSX Firewall configuration and policy management
• Strong understanding of enterprise firewall technologies and security best practices.
• Exposure to DNS concepts and troubleshooting.
• Conceptual understanding of SD-WAN architecture and technologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cisco certifications such as CCNP Enterprise or CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure.
• VMware certifications related to NSX are highly desirable.
• Experience working in large enterprise or managed services environments.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and change management.
• Experience with network monitoring and automation tools is an advantage.
