Job summary

Oxydata & TechTalent is seeking a Senior Telecom Software Engineer to develop and maintain backend services for telecom investigation and analytics platforms in a hybrid Kuala Lumpur setup. You will work on decoder development for LTE/5G, implement chipset ICD updates, and optimise data processing pipelines.

The role requires strong C#/C++ skills, a solid telecom protocol background, and experience with SQL Server.

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or equivalent.
4–7 years of strong development in C# and C/C++.
Deep understanding of LTE, 5G NR, GSM, WCDMA protocols.
Knowledge of SQL Server and T‑SQL.
Ability to interpret chipset ICD specifications from multiple vendors.
Ability to produce clear technical docs, manuals, release notes.
Collaborates with globally distributed teams.
Customer-oriented in defect resolution and L3 escalations.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain telecom protocol decoders for LTE, 5G NR, GSM and WCDMA.
Implement chipset-specific updates per ICD specs from major vendors.
Decode and analyse throughput metrics (PDSCH, PUSCH, MAC).
Design and implement assignment orchestration systems (state machines, work orders).
Enhance map UI components and geospatial visualisation features.
Optimise SQL Server and application performance.
Resolve decoder issues and production defects.
Manage release processes, changelogs, and user manuals.
Participate in architecture reviews, sprints and documentation.
