Job summary

Medtronic Malaysia Operations Sdn. Bhd. is expanding its life-changing technology footprint in Malaysia and seeks a Senior Molding Engineer for our Kulim facility.

You will establish robust injection molding processes, drive efficiency, and ensure high-quality production while supporting regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree with 7+ years of relevant experience and is fluent in English and Malay, with a willingness to travel internationally for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong written and verbal proficiency in English and Malay.
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally for extended periods (2–6 months or longer).

Responsibilities

• Set up and validate injection molding processes for new and existing products, ensuring optimal cycle times and quality.
• Perform IQ/OQ/PQ validations and maintain compliance with FDA and ISO 13485 requirements.
• Provide hands-on technical support for continuous production, including troubleshooting equipment, material, and process issues.
• Monitor molding operations to maintain consistent performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with production teams to resolve non-conformances and improve process reliability.
• Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including setup sheets, validation protocols, and work instructions.
• Apply scientific molding principles and SPC to optimize process parameters.
• Train and mentor production personnel on molding best practices and process standards.
• Partner with tooling engineers and suppliers to address mold performance issues and implement improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, improve cycle times, and enhance overall efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations in all molding operations.

The Senior Molding Engineer is responsible for establishing robust injection molding processes and providing ongoing technical support to ensure continuous, high-quality production. This role focuses on process setup, troubleshooting, and optimization while driving efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties as assigned:

• Set up and validate injection molding processes for new and existing products, ensuring optimal cycle times and quality.
• Perform process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) and maintain compliance with FDA and ISO 13485 requirements.
• Provide hands‑on technical support for continuous production, including troubleshooting equipment, material, and process issues.
• Monitor molding operations to maintain consistent performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with production teams to resolve non‑conformances and improve process reliability.
• Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including setup sheets, validation protocols, and work instructions.
• Apply scientific molding principles and statistical process control (SPC) to optimize process parameters.
• Train and mentor production personnel on molding best practices and process standards.
• Partner with tooling engineers and suppliers to address mold performance issues and implement improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, improve cycle times, and enhance overall efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations in all molding operations.

Requirements Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong written and verbal proficiency in English and Malay.
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally for extended periods, typically ranging from 2 to 6 months or longer, depending on on-the-job training needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industrial or Electromechanical Engineering degree
• Experience in mold design and maintenance
• Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing
• Experience in project management
• Experience with vertical injection molding machine
