Job summary

Ambu A/S is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Equipment & Automation) for its NPI department, based in Ambu Global Hub, Penang, Malaysia. You will design and implement new manufacturing and testing equipment with robotics/vision integration to improve efficiency and precision.

The role requires strong mechanical design skills, CAD expertise, and experience in equipment development within manufacturing or R&D environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics.

• Proficiency in CAD software.
• Knowledge of simulation software for virtual testing and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing equipment, testing equipment and automation systems with robotics/vision integration to enhance efficiency and precision.
• Review CAD models, engineering drawings and BOMs from vendors and provide alternatives.
• Provide mechanical components such as pneumatic valves, actuators, motors and sensors for systems.
• Conduct FAT and SAT for new equipment to ensure specifications and standards.
• Collaborate with software, electrical, and controls engineers to integrate components into full automation systems.
• Optimize equipment performance and efficiency.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment-related issues.
• Provide training and support for equipment operation and maintenance.

Ambu A/S is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer (Equipment & Automation) for our NPI department to be based in Ambu Global Hub, in Penang, Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing equipment, testing equipment and automation systems with robotics/vision integration to enhance efficiency and precision.
• Review detailed CAD models, engineering drawings and BOMs from vendors on equipment and automation systems and challenge the designers and/or provide alternative solutions for the models.
• Provide suitable mechanical components (pneumatic valves, actuators, motors, sensors, etc.) to be used in equipment and automation systems.
• Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for new equipment to ensure they meet specifications, performance standards, and regulations.
• Collaborate with software, electrical, and controls engineers to integrate mechanical components into full automation systems.
• Optimize equipment performance and efficiency.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment-related issues.
• Provide training and support for equipment operation and maintenance.
