Job summary

Ambu A/S is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Equipment & Automation) for its NPI department, based in Ambu Global Hub, Penang, Malaysia. You will design and implement new manufacturing and testing equipment with robotics/vision integration to improve efficiency and precision.

The role requires strong mechanical design skills, CAD expertise, and experience in equipment development within manufacturing or R&D environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics.
Experience in equipment development and automation in manufacturing or R&D.
Strong understanding of mechanical design, robotics and automation systems.
Proficiency in CAD software.
Knowledge of simulation software for virtual testing and optimization.
Familiarity with FDA regulations and medical device compliance.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing equipment, testing equipment and automation systems with robotics/vision integration to enhance efficiency and precision.
Review CAD models, engineering drawings and BOMs from vendors and provide alternatives.
Provide mechanical components such as pneumatic valves, actuators, motors and sensors for systems.
Conduct FAT and SAT for new equipment to ensure specifications and standards.
Collaborate with software, electrical, and controls engineers to integrate components into full automation systems.
Optimize equipment performance and efficiency.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment-related issues.
Provide training and support for equipment operation and maintenance.
