Job summary

A leading manufacturing company in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to oversee bill of material (BOM) management for all products. You will ensure effective communication regarding BOM updates, provide engineering support in production, and manage design developments. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years in a manufacturing plant. Knowledge of automotive components and fabrication processes is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing plant with a similar role.
• Experienced in BOM creation and maintenance in ERP system.
• Meticulous and able to work under fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

Job description

Senior Mechanical Engineer (Automotive ICE & EV)

To fully responsible to bill of material (BOM) management of all products.

Active communication to relevant parties on BOM changes/ updates.

To propose developing customized design and cost estimation for all products.

To generate and distribute engineering information document for each production job (products drawings, BOM specifications, production templates, installation instructions and parts manuals).

To provide engineering support and advice on production as and when required (e.g.: mechanical installation troubleshooting and other technical support).

General engineering record keeping and updating.

Propose and execute necessary improvement and cost savings to improve productivity, profitability, and design function.

Liaison with principal:

New drawings and job process flow management.

Design and material updates.

Operating and service manual, parts manual.

Instruction manual or installation instruction.

To advise material, components, and qualified vendors for parts purchases for quality and cost effectiveness.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronic engineering, or automotive engineering.

Minimum 5 years in manufacturing plant with similar role.

Experienced in BOM creation and maintenance in ERP system.

Ability to perform analysis and calculation of material figures and mechanical properties.

Meticulous and able to work under fast-paced work environment.
