UBCT in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to own the mechanical design of automated solutions from concept to assembly. You will develop concepts, create detailed 3D models in SolidWorks, and prepare 2D drawings and BOMs for fabrication.

You will review designs with cross-functional teams, perform tolerance analysis, and support testing, commissioning and field issues. The role requires independent work and travel for project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, preferably in industrial automation or manufacturing.
• Strong hands-on proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modelling, assemblies and detailed mechanical design.
• Able to produce high-quality 2D assembly drawings, cross-section drawings and detailed part drawings.
• Good understanding of GD&T, tolerances, fits, materials and manufacturing processes.
• Experience preparing and managing BOMs, engineering drawings and design documentation.
• Experience supporting machine assembly, testing, troubleshooting and equipment buy-off.

Responsabilités

• Lead the mechanical design and development of automated machines and equipment using SolidWorks.
• Develop new machine concepts, mechanisms and design proposals based on project and customer requirements.
• Produce detailed 3D models, 2D assembly drawings, part drawings and engineering documentation.
• Generate accurate BOMs according to company standards and project requirements.
• Review drawings and designs with Engineering, Project and other teams before fabrication.
• Support machine assembly, setup, testing and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with vendors on fabrication and component selection.
• Provide technical guidance and design review support to junior designers.
