Job summary

Insulet is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support existing manufacturing operations and new product development by advancing automated assembly and packaging lines. You will collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, metrology and suppliers to specify, install, and validate fully automated equipment across global sites.

The role requires 6+ years of hands-on machine design experience, CAD proficiency (SolidWorks), and strong project-management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience with automated equipment design and validation.
• Familiarity with IQ/OQ/PQ, FAT/SAT processes a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and team leadership capabilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, specify and implement automated equipment for assembly and packaging processes.
• Support continuous improvement, technology transfers, and new product development for manufacturing.
• Lead vendor communications and ensure adherence to design and development guidelines.
