Job summary

A leading electronics company in Bukit Mertajam, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to manage the mechanical design creation process through the complete NPI phase. Qualifications

Job Descriptions

• Mechanical design creation process, throughout complete NPI phase.
• Master concept and architecture engineering, providing mechanical engineering and knowhow.
• Assessments and recommendations e.g., on material and process choices based on mechanical design principles, supporting design for perfection, longevity and magical elements.
• Along with Master Architecture, Create mechanical constructions and make proof of concept by design review, rapid prototyping & simulations.
• Work out with suppliers for exploration and product development, transforming proven concept and architecture into product requirements.
• Work closely with Quality organization and vendors to ensure product and process validation.
  
  
  

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field is often required.
• Preferably at least 5 years of working experience in mechanical design, specifically within the audio or consumer electronics industry.
• Familiarity with audio product design, including speakers, headphones, or other audio devices.
• CAD Software Proficiency, expertise in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for designing and modelling components.
• Experience with prototyping techniques and knowledge of testing standards for audio equipment.
• Understanding of materials used in audio products for optimal acoustic performance and durability.
• Knowledge of thermal dynamics, as audio devices often require effective heat dissipation designs.
• Strong analytical skills to address design challenges and improve product performance.
• Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, acoustics experts, and manufacturing personnel.
