Job summary

HP in Malaysia is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Engineer for the Thermal Inkjet Final Assembly team. You will drive manufacturing excellence, process capability, quality improvement, and cost reduction across high-volume lines while partnering with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product Development.

The role emphasizes data-driven yield improvements, root cause analysis, standardized processes, and mentoring junior engineers to sustain performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8-10 years of experience in manufacturing
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments is preferred.
• Experience with assembly processes, automation, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Drive manufacturing performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for yield, downtime, quality, and productivity issues.
• Monitor and improve process capability, equipment utilization, and operational efficiency.
• Establish and sustain manufacturing best practices through standardization and process controls.
• Lead yield improvement projects using data-driven methodologies.
• Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality and manufacturing robustness.
• Implement preventive actions to reduce process variation and recurring issues.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Manufacturing Partners to resolve technical and operational challenges.
• Present project updates and performance reviews to management.
• Mentor junior engineers and support capability development within the team.
