Job summary

Private Advertiser in Kuala Lumpur seeks an senior Investor Relations professional to lead engagement with shareholders, fund managers and analysts. You will manage relationships, respond to inquiries, and coordinate earnings communications with Finance and Corporate teams.

The role requires a strong grasp of financial statements, capital markets and effective investor messaging, with experience in public disclosures and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Communications or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements, valuation principles, capital markets and corporate disclosure requirements.
  • Excellent presentation, writing, stakeholder-management and public-speaking skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial and operational information and communicate it in clear business language.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for shareholders, institutional investors, fund managers, research analysts and other investment-community stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective investors.
  • Coordinate investor meetings, analyst briefings, roadshows, conferences, site visits and other engagement activities.
  • Respond to investor and analyst enquiries accurately and promptly, in consultation with relevant internal stakeholders.

Job description

Serve as the main point of contact for shareholders, institutional investors, fund managers, research analysts and other investment-community stakeholders.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective investors.

Coordinate investor meetings, analyst briefings, roadshows, conferences, site visits and other engagement activities.

Respond to investor and analyst enquiries accurately and promptly, in consultation with relevant internal stakeholders.

Monitor investor sentiment, market expectations and shareholder concerns, and provide regular feedback to senior management.

Financial Results and Corporate Communications

Coordinate quarterly and annual financial-results announcements together with Finance, Company Secretarial and Corporate Communications teams.

Prepare investor presentations, earnings materials, briefing notes, factsheets, FAQs and management talking points.

Translate financial results, operational performance and business strategies into clear and compelling investment messages.

Support the preparation and review of annual reports, sustainability reports, corporate presentations and other shareholder communications.

Ensure consistent messaging across investor-relations materials, corporate announcements and management communications.

Monitor the company’s share-price performance, trading activity, analyst reports, market trends and peer-company developments.

Conduct benchmarking against comparable listed companies, REITs and property-sector peers.

Maintain an understanding of the company’s shareholder profile and changes in institutional ownership.

Prepare regular investor-relations reports and market updates for the CEO, CFO, Board and senior management.

Identify potential market concerns, valuation gaps and communication opportunities.

Corporate Strategy and Investment Story

Work closely with the top management, CFO and business leaders to develop and communicate the company’s investment proposition.

Develop a strong understanding of the company’s financial position, property portfolio, development pipeline, asset performance and growth strategy.

Support corporate exercises such as acquisitions, disposals, capital raising, mergers, placements or other strategic transactions.

Advise management on how strategic decisions and corporate developments may be perceived by investors and analysts.

Recommend initiatives to improve market visibility, investor understanding and analyst coverage.

Governance and Compliance

Ensure investor communications comply with Bursa Malaysia’s disclosure requirements, securities regulations and the company’s internal disclosure policies.

Work closely with Company Secretarial, Legal, Finance and Compliance teams to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of market disclosures.

Maintain appropriate controls over confidential and material non-public information.

Support the preparation of materials for Annual General Meetings, Extraordinary General Meetings and shareholder engagements.

Ensure all external communications are accurate, balanced, consistent and appropriately approved.

Leadership and Planning

Develop and implement the annual investor-relations strategy, calendar and engagement plan.

Manage the investor-relations budget and external service providers, where applicable.

Establish appropriate investor-relations processes, databases and reporting systems.

Lead, coach and develop members of the investor-relations team.

Perform other strategic or corporate assignments as directed by senior management.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Communications or a related discipline.

Professional qualifications such as CFA, ACCA, CPA, ICAEW or an MBA would be an advantage.

At least 8–12 years of relevant experience in investor relations, equity research, investment banking, corporate finance, strategic planning, fund management or financial communications.

Experience in a public-listed company, REIT, property developer, asset-management company or financial institution is strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of financial statements, valuation principles, capital markets and corporate disclosure requirements.

Ability to interpret complex financial and operational information and communicate it in clear business language.

Excellent presentation, writing, stakeholder-management and public-speaking skills.

Strong business acumen, analytical ability and attention to detail.

Comfortable engaging with senior management, Board members, investors and analysts.

High level of professionalism, integrity, discretion and confidentiality.

Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and investor-relations reporting tools.
