Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting a Senior Manager, Group Compliance for a leading agribusiness organisation in Selangor, Malaysia. The role leads the development and ongoing enhancement of the Group Compliance Framework, policies, standards, and governance processes while advising senior management on regulatory matters.

You will oversee regulatory obligation management, design risk‑based monitoring programs, and drive transformation through automation and analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Governance, or related discipline (postgrad an advantage).
• Professional certifications in Compliance, Governance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Fraud Examination, Anti‑Bribery & Corruption, or related fields preferred.
• 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in compliance, governance, legal, regulatory, risk management, internal audit, or assurance functions.
• Proven experience developing and managing compliance frameworks, risk assessments, monitoring programs, and remediation initiatives.
• Strong ability to advise senior management on regulatory, compliance, and governance matters; engage multiple business units.
• People leadership experience, including coaching, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Strong competencies in compliance governance, risk assessment, regulatory interpretation, monitoring & assurance, reporting, transformation, strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the Group Compliance Framework, policies, standards, and governance processes.
• Identify, assess, monitor, and escalate enterprise‑wide compliance risks, breaches, and emerging regulatory issues.
• Act as a senior advisor to management and business functions on compliance, governance, and regulatory matters.
• Oversee regulatory obligation management, including interpretation, communication, and implementation of new regulatory requirements.
• Design and execute risk‑based compliance monitoring, reviews, assessments, and assurance programs across the Group.
• Develop compliance reports, dashboards, metrics, and insights for senior management and governance committees.
• Drive compliance transformation initiatives, including process improvement, automation, digitisation, and data analytics capabilities.
• Promote a strong compliance culture through awareness programs, capability‑building initiatives, and stakeholder engagement.
• Manage significant compliance incidents, investigations, remediation actions, and root‑cause analyses.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to the compliance team while supporting the Head of Group Compliance in strategic priorities and governance activities.
