Job summary

A facilities management company in Kuala Selangor is looking for a Facilities Manager to oversee and monitor the total FEMS scope while ensuring compliance with international standards. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field and have at least 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in healthcare. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in managing building facilities, preferably in healthcare environments.
  • Excellent knowledge of FEMS systems (mechanical, electrical, civil, medical gas, lift).
  • Well-versed in statutory compliance (DOSH, ST, MOH, JKR, CKAP).
  • Strong command of both spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

Job description

Oversee and monitor total FEMS Scope (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil)

Mentor technical leadership capabilities across the FEMS team and develop talent pipeline and succession plan for the team.

Foster and sustain effective working relationships and rapport with the government authorities such as JKKP, BOMBA etc for any building and facilities related issue

Manage and ensure building and facilities management is following the International Standard (IEC) or Malaysian standard.

Represent company in client meetings, hospital operational committees, audit and inspections.

Manage and resolve escalated complaints and disputes from end-users or clients.

Enforce the implementation of applicable company procedures and guidelines to ensure conformance to the established Limits of Authority (LOA) to safeguard company interest, image and reputation.

To manage, monitor and ensure the expenditure of operations is within the Operational Planned Expenditure (OPEX) and Capital Planned Expenditure (CAPEX).

Monitor and manage departmental budget for manpower, spare parts and special projects.

Validate MRF (Maintenance Reserve Fund) claims, procurement requisitions and cost saving initiatives.

Ensure a safe and conducive environment to fulfil statutory requirements and hospital accreditation standards.

Communicate, interpret and champion the execution of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) policies and undertake appropriate mitigation to safeguard business operations, high staff discipline and industrial harmony.

Support the implementation of identified accreditation requirements such as MSQH, and QA, HSE to meet quality standard.

Monitor and manage contractor/vendor performance during their work execution to ensure the building and facilities is maintained and their work is in accordance to the contract specifications and standards.

Manage acceptance testing and installation of purchased equipment and system to ensure all new asset purchased was tested, recorded and updated according to standard.

Approve technical investigations, engineering evaluations.

Lead Disaster management Plans and BCP exercises

Review and endorse SOP updates.

To perform any duties from time to time with care and diligent.

Requirements
