Job summary

Motorola Solutions in Bayan Lepas, Penang, is seeking an experienced leader to guide a team of software managers and engineers responsible for embedded software on mission‑critical two‑way radios.

You will drive end‑to‑end SDLC, collaborate across product, hardware, QA, acoustics, and factories, and push innovation with AI, automation and new tooling while building a high‑performance, diverse team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Telecommunications/CS or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of embedded software development, with at least 5 years in leadership.
• Proven experience delivering complex software projects across the SDLC.
• Understanding of microcontrollers, microprocessors, and embedded hardware‑software dependencies is a plus.
• Hands‑on with Linux, RTOS, mobile apps, web apps and cloud computing; kernel bring‑up and device drivers a plus.
• Knowledge of AI/ML integration in embedded systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and negotiation skills; able to manage diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead software managers and engineers with guidance, mentorship and career development.
• Oversee all stages of embedded software development lifecycle for mission‑critical radios.
• Collaborate with product, hardware, QA, acoustics and factory teams for smooth execution.
• Drive innovation using AI, automation and customized tools to improve workflows and features.
• Monitor performance and quality metrics; drive productivity and efficiency improvements.
• Stay updated on embedded trends and adopt applicable technologies.
