Job summary

Malaysian Bar in Kajang invites applications for Senior/Junior Litigation Lawyer to handle court proceedings, from pleadings to appeals, and to manage files and client communications with minimal supervision.

Candidates must have an LLB or equivalent and be a licensed Advocate & Solicitor with a valid Practising Certificate, with 3–5 years of litigation experience and strong analytical and research skills.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, legal research and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; proactive, responsible, mature and able to work independently as well as in a team.

Responsibilities

• Attend to clients and represent them in court proceedings, hearings, trials, appeals, mediations and other dispute resolution matters.
• Manage litigation files, clients and documentation effectively and independently from commencement to completion.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions, advice, correspondence, reports and other necessary legal documentation.
• Advise clients on dispute resolution strategies and negotiate settlements where appropriate.
• Draft and prepare cause papers, pleadings, affidavits, submissions, bundles of documents, records of appeal and other court documents.
• Lead and conduct court proceedings independently, including hearings, trials and appeals at all relevant levels of court.
• Liaise with clients, opposing solicitors, courts and relevant authorities in relation to ongoing matters.
• Ensure all court deadlines, filing requirements and case timelines are properly monitored and complied with.
