Job summary

Commerzbank is seeking an End-to-End Database Infrastructure Engineer for Linux systems to join its IT infrastructure team. You will develop and automate OS and database hosting platforms, ensuring performance, data integrity, accessibility and security across on-premise environments.

The role requires extensive Linux experience (Oracle Linux/RHEL), scripting (Python, Ansible), IaC, database release management, and Oracle ASM/SAN integration, with a focus on regulatory compliance and audits.

Qualifications

• University/University of Applied Sciences or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in IT operations or related field.
• Experience in IT operations; has own responsibility for systems and/or complex processes.
• Extensive experience in operating systems (Oracle Enterprise Linux or RHEL).
• Experience with Oracle Database Release management and ASM integration.
• Knowledge of Software Development lifecycle and IaC practices.
• SRE practices around Everything-as-Code (EaC) and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Development and implementation of database specific Linux OS processes for platforms hosting databases.
• Automation workflow development for OS modules and future-oriented digital architecture.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to deliver products, services, and systems.
• Manage product lifecycles and continuous optimization of processes and systems.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, reporting, and audit requirements.
• Operation, maintenance, and advanced support for database IT systems.
• Adherence to security standards and stable operation of products and systems.
• Collaborate on automated testing, templating (like jinja2), and IaC tooling.
