Job summary

MAXIS Malaysia is seeking a Legal Specialist to provide comprehensive legal support to business divisions, focusing on contracts and third-party dealings. You will draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

The role requires a strong background in corporate and commercial law, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with multiple internal teams and external counsel.

Qualifications

• Degree in Law (LLB) is mandatory.
• 7–10 years’ post-qualification experience, with at least 3 years in private practice at a leading law firm.
• Ability to work independently and with diverse internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advisory to Maxis divisions for contracts with third parties.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts with partners, retailers, merchants, distributors, resellers and dealers.
• Draft and review customer terms and conditions for retail products and services.
• Provide compliance guidance on Consumer Protection Act, MACC Act, and PDPA.
• Liaise with external counsel when required and protect Maxis’ interests.
